Watchman over Wichita Falls

Because of verses 4-7 in chapter 29 of Jeremiah which says: "Go into captivity and build houses, plant gardens, multiply and not decrease, seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you, pray to the Lord on its behalf; for in its welfare you will have welfare” and also verse 17 of chapter 3 in Ezekiel:  “Son of man, I have appointed you a watchman to the house of Israel; warn them from me.” We at Beit Tefillah felt it was our duty to stand as watchman over the city of Wichita Falls, the city of our exille.

 

Starting in January 2008, families of Beit Tefillah prayed, blew shofars and said blessings over their own homes and lands placing stakes with these scriptures as well as others at each corner of their properties north,south, east and west. We then went to the 4 compass points at the physical bounderies of Wichita Falls placing markers at these locations also and prayed over and blessed the city. On the sighting of the new moon we again go to each of these locations around the city and pray over the people and land within these 4 corners.
